Artist: Anne Mayer Hesse, 55, former Cincinnatian living in Daphne, Ala. Her work won second prize in the fiber category at Summerfair 2000.

Sponsor: The Cosmetic and Implant Dental Center.

This pig's pen: World Peace Bell, Fourth and York streets, Newport.

You were inspired by: All the beads in my studio, and the fact that Dr. (Greg) Sherman at the Cosmetic and Implant Dental Center fixed my smile.

What's the pig idea? It's basically pink and it has big, smiling mouths all over it, with the teeth visible since this was a dental situation. The lips are all beaded. The entire head and ears are beaded and the tail. The mouth of the pig is smiling and has a set of dentures in it.

Completing the project took: About two weeks.

Swine over matter: All the beads in my studio.

Your high on the hog was: Having all the neighborhood kids make daily pilgrimages to pay homage to the pig's progress.

Pig peeve: Asking all the different experts what materials to use and getting different answers from each one.

Best pig tale: I wanted to call it In-dentured Pig, but I was overruled.

My favorite pork dish: Crisp bacon.

What artistic movement most affected the outcome of this pig? I am a doll maker.

The materials cost: I spent about $100, but Porter Paints in Montgomery donated most of the materials.

Do you have a specific art movement in mind? Pointillism because of all the beads.

Do you consider this art or porkography? It's beady eyed porkography.

If your pig starred in a movie (or an opera), who would you cast to play the role? Martha Raye. Does anybody remember her big mouth?

This is 51st in a series spotlighting pigs from the Big Pig Gig Public Art Project taking place in Cincinnati, Covington and Newport. Find past pig profiles at Click on the Big Pig Gig icon.
