LOUISVILLE Nick Smith scored two goals and Sean Gauthier made 32 saves as the Louisville Panthers edged the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks 4-3 Friday at Freedom Hall. Peter Ratchuk added a pair of assists for Louisville, which has won five of its last six games and 10 of its last 13.
Bob Wren scored a pair of goals for Cincinnati, which is 2-8-0-1 in its last 11 games. Wren, the Ducks leading scorer, has five goals and seven points in the last four games.
Aren Miller, making his seventh appearance in the last nine games, stopped 33 shots in a losing effort.
The Ducks were outshot by Louisville 37-34, including 17-9 in the first period.
The Ducks play host to the Panthers 7:35p.m. today at the Gardens. Cincinnati completes its third season as members of the AHL against the Kentucky Thoroughblades at the Gardens at 3:05 p.m. Sunday
