Readers need to pick most diabolical golf holes

The Cincinnati Enquirer

Our mission for you is this: Submit to The Enquirer your list of what you consider the 18 most diabolical public golf holes in the Tristate — southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky or southeastern Indiana.

For identification purposes, give us the name of the course and the number of the hole or holes. For example: “No.8 at So-and-So Golf Course” or “No.6 and No.13 at Such-and-So Golf Course.” Any entries with more than 18 holes will be automatically disqualified.

The three entrants who pick — among their 18 holes — the most holes that also happen to be on the list of Enquirer sportswriter John Erardi will join him for a round of golf.

You will play those 18 holes all in one day. That day is Monday April 10. (Tuesday the 11th will be the first “rain day,” Wednesday the 12th will be the second rain day.) Be sure to put aside an entire day — dawn to dusk — because you'll need lots of time to play all 18.

Note: we are searching for the 18 most diabolical holes — not the “most unfair” or the “worst-designed.” We want legitimate golf holes, be they par 3's, 4's or 5's.

Your deadline for submitting that list to The Enquirer is Tuesday, April 4. You can submit them by:

        • E-mail at sports@enquirer.com

        • Mail at “Diabolical 18,” Attn: Ken Sain, Sports Department, The Cincinnati Enquirer, 312 Elm St., Cinti, OH 45202

        • Fax at (513) 768-8550.

Be sure to include your phone number so we can make arrangements to play.
