NKU foe beats Slippery Rock

        PINE BLUFF, Ark. — Celeste Hill scored 22 points and Western Washington earned a meeting with Northern Kentucky in the NCAA Division II semifinals with an 84-67 victory over Slippery Rock Wednesday night.

        Sara Nichols and Pamela Lovely each added 14 points for Western Washington (27-3) which will play NKU at 9:30p.m. today.

        Slippery Rock (23-7) was led by Becky Siembak, who had 17 points and 12 rebounds. Tracy Whitling and Jackie Altenweg each had 15 points. N. Dakota St. 71, Delta St. 64: Jayne Boddeker scored 21 points as North Dakota State advanced to a semifinal game with Columbus State at 7:30p.m. today.

        The game was tied 28-28 at the half. North Dakota State (27-3) turned over the ball 22 times to 14 for Delta State but made 12 of 15 free throws in the second half. For the game, Delta State (29-3) went to the line only seven times, making four.

        Kiauna Burns scored 14 points for North Dakota State, Jayne Even added 12 points and Jaye Amundson had 11. Even pulled down 12 rebounds and Burns had 10.

        Delta State was led by Caroline Boclair's 22 points.

       

        Columbus St. 76, Emporia St. 67: Kinesha Harden scored 17 points and three teammates also scored in double figures for Columbus State.

        Reserve Haley Cook had 16 points, Candace Turner scored 14 and Taneshia Moore had 13 for Columbus State (28-7), which had 19 second-chance points.
