Ohio processing plant to expand

Need another sign that Procter & Gamble has big plans for its premium pet food business? Look no further than Leipsic, Ohio.
That's where P&G's Iams division is expanding its cat and dog food plant to help meet an increased demand for its products in other countries.
P&G expects to add 35 jobs with the $15 million expansion of the plant, company leaders said last month.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture in September approved overseas shipment of Iams pet food. The company now distributes its pet foods to 77 countries.
New markets mean new customers, which adds to the company's bottom line, P&G executives say. That sales growth potential is a major reason P&G spent $2.3 billion last fall to buy the longtime Dayton company.
The plant in Leipsic, about 45 miles southwest of Toledo, now has 135 workers. It makes the Eukanuba and Iams brands dog and cat food.
