Tackett hopes for Mills-like effort
BY NEIL SCHMIDT
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Three years ago, a little-used player named Cameron Mills became a postseason surprise, bombing 3-pointers over unsuspecting opponents and helping UK reach the NCAA title game. Todd Tackett dreams of the same scenario.
Cam did a great job coming on three years ago, and I'm confident I step up and do my best, Tackett said.
With Desmond Allison's absence, UK will need increased production from its bench. Tackett, a sophomore who averages just 6.5 minutes per game, could be key.
Tackett averages just 0.8 points per game, having made just one of his 22 3-point tries this season. He insists he only needs enough minutes to get comfortable.
I'm excited, he said. I've been looking for an opportunity, and though it's unfortunate it came this way, I'm ready to rise to the occasion.
