Miami 67, Buffalo 58

But leading scorer Taylor hurt

The Cincinnati Enquirer

Miami snapped its four-game losing streak Saturday, but lost its leading scorer.

Anthony Taylor, who averages 18.1 points per game, went down with an ankle sprain six minutes into the RedHawks' 67-58 comeback win at Buffalo. He's questionable for Miami's first-round Mid-American Conference Tournament game Wednesday at Eastern Michigan.

Jason Grunkemeyer, bothered by a bad back the last month, came off the bench to score a career-high 26 points on six 3-pointers.

“It was sort of a blessing in disguise Anthony got hurt,” Miami coach Charlie Coles said. “It allowed Jason to come to life, and we needed him.”

Miami (12-14, 8-10) trailed 25-5 but took the lead at 44-43 with 11:06 to play on a layup by Rich Allendorf.

The RedHawks hit 10 straight free throws late, four by Grunkemeyer.

Jason Stewart had 20 points and a career-high 10 rebounds.
