Villa Madonna girls beat Beechwood 52-49

Molly Halpin came off the bench and hit a 10-foot shot with 20 seconds remaining, breaking a tie and giving Villa Madonna a 52-49 victory over Beechwood in girls basketball action Monday at Beechwood.
After Halpin's only points of the game, Christy Gordon sank two free throws in the closing seconds to seal Villa Madonna's first victory over Beechwood in three years.
Krissi Pavel led Villa Madonna with 17 points and Lee Humphrey added 16. Beechwood's Katie Pohlgeers led all scores with 20.

The Raiders sealed the outcome by scoring 23 points in the fourth quarter. Sophomore Christi Robinson led the charge with 11.
Robinson (16), Hastings (13) and Holtzapfel (12) all scored in double-figures for Ryle.
