Broo returning to Channel 5

BY JOHN FAY
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Ken Broo, the former Channel 12 and Channel 5 sports anchor, is returning to Channel 5 as sports director. Broo will anchor the 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. sports broadcasts.

George Vogel, the current sports director, will become executive sports producer. Vogel will be in charge of the day-to-day operation and do some anchoring and reporting. “I've worked nights for 81/2 years,” Vogel said. “I'm ready to do something else.”

Broo left Channel 12 after 61/2 years there to go to WUSA-TV in Washington. His contract was not renewed there. He will start at 5 on Wednesday.
