Villa Madonna upsets Bellevue

        Freshman Molly Halpin came off the bench to scored five in the third quarter as Villa Madonna built a five-point lead en route to a 49-44 upset over Bellevue at Villa Madonna.

        The Vipers maintained the lead throughout the fourth quarter. Christy Gordon, a back-up point guard, hit eight-of-eight free throws, including four in the fourth quarter.

        For the game Villa Madonna sank 16-of-23 free throws compared to Bellevue's four-of-25.

        • Holmes 54, Louisville Eastern 48, — Jilane Collins made four-of-four from the foul line in the final 1:30 to seal the win for Holmes in the Northern Kentucky Classic. Collins finished with 11 points.

        Sophomore guard Erica Hallman led Holmes with 22 points, five assists and five steals.
