Woods' free throws win for Calvary

        Sarah Woods sank two free throws with 20 seconds remaining, giving Calvary Christian a 48-47 girls basketball victory over Villa Madonna at Villa Madonna Monday night.

        The Vipers had a chance to win the game but a last-second shot by Krissi Paval rolled of the rim.

        • Holy Cross 40, Scott 30 — Julie Halpin sank six free throws in the fourth quarter, rallying the Indians past the Eagles.

        Tied after three quarters, Holy Cross won the game at the foul line, converting 12 during the final eight minutes.

        The Crusaders held a 32-31 lead after three quarters but broke the game open when Conner went into a full-court press. St. Henry easily broke the press, leading to layups.
