Shields wins 200th at NKU

        BAYAMON, Puerto Rico — Ken Shields got his 200th career victory as coach of Northern Kentucky, 77-47 over Emporia State (Kan.) Saturday in the first round of the Puerto Rico Holiday Classic.

        Craig Sanders scored 22 points for the Norse (7-1), who are 200-128 in 12 years under Shields.

        Sanders, a graduate of McNicholas High, made six 3-pointers. The Norse, ranked No.7 in the NCAA Division II poll, made 16 of 34 3-point attempts and forced 25 turnovers for ESU (5-3).

        Senior guard Kevin Listerman scored 13 points for NKU, and senior forward Scott Marston scored 12.

        Junior center Zach Wieber led the Norse with 10 rebounds, and junior guard Brian Lawhon made a game-high six assists.
