Georgetown falls in NAIA finals

SAVANNAH, Tenn. Al Hunt passed for two touchdowns and ran for another all in the second half leading Northwestern Oklahoma State to a 34-20 victory over Georgetown College Saturday for the NAIA title.
The No.2 Rangers (13-0), trailing 20-0, scored 34 consecutive points in the second half to win their first national title. Georgetown (13-1) had entered the game ranked No.1.
Hunt, chosen the game's most valuable offensive player, capped a 41-yard drive after a short punt with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Brandon Christenson with 10:40 left in the third quarter. He finished with 129 yards rushing and passed for 141, completing 8-of-13.
The Rangers took advantage of a fumble by Georgetown's Eddie Eviston (Newport Central Catholic) at the 19 with an 8-yard touchdown run by Gary Manuel with 8:48 remaining in the period.
Eviston's second fumble of the second half, recovered by defensive MVP Daryl Richardson, led to Hunt's 4-yard touchdown run with 7:26 remaining in the game.
In the first half, Eviston showed why he was the NAIA's player of the year. He completed 15-of-26 for 241 yards and two touchdowns.
He drove the Tigers 65 yards on their opening possession, capping the drive with a 25-yard pass to Creed Gann on a fourth-and-17 play.
