The moment is etched in Cincinnati history: Lenny Brown nailing a pull-up jumper as time expired to give Xavier the upset win over No. 1-ranked Cincinnati.

“I ain't going to lie,” Brown said. “I didn't know if it was going in. I was hoping I'd get fouled .. It went in.”

It was Xavier's first win ever at the Shoemaker Center.

XU's Gary Lumpkin threw up a prayer off the drive with 7.1 seconds to go. He missed, but UC knocked the ball out of bounds. Xavier's James Posey made good on the second chance, and it was a tie game, 69-69, with 6.7 to go.

UC had its chance to win. The Bearcats had the ball, but UC guard Charles Williams dribbled the ball off his foot on the way up the court for UC's 21st turnover.

That set up Brown's dramatic shot.

“I felt bad for him,” said Brown, who led all scorers with 19 points. “But I knew it gave us a chance to win.” A Shootout to end all Shootouts
