Mariemont defeats New Richmond 68-56

The Cincinnati Enquirer

        Conrad Hindert scored nine consecutive second-quarter points to give Mariemont the lead for good in a 68-56 victory Saturday over New Richmond at Mariemont.

        Hindert teamed with Branden Fisher to score 23 of Mariemont's 26 points in the second quarter.

        Fisher finished with a game-high 23 points.

        • Princeton 74, Colerain 60, at Colerain — Colerain stayed close to the Vikings, who are ranked No.3 in the Enquirer's Division I coaches poll, but two late Curtis Cross 3-pointers helped Princeton pull away.

        Cross finished with 18 points. Senior forward Larry Brown led Princeton with 23 points, while teammate Erik Daniels added 19 points and 10 rebounds.

        Colerain's Mike Ferris led all scorers with 25 points.

        LaSalle tied the score on a jumper by Doug Kruthaupt with 14 seconds left to play, but Cathedral drove the length of the floor to get another chance.

        Tony Hornback led LaSalle with 24 points. Otis Shannon paced Cathedral Prep with 16 points.
