N.Ky. boys basketball roundup


Lloyd too much for Lexington Sayre

        Ryan Wilson scored a game-high 17 points and Michael Hopkins added 11 Friday night, lifting Lloyd to a 56-33 boys basketball victory over Lexington Sayre.

        Lloyd rolled to a 30-9 halftime lead and coasted. Sayre had two starters out because of injuries.

        • Simon Kenton 76, Walton-Verona 40, at Simon Kenton — Donnie Baker scored nine of his team-high 13 points in the third quarter to lead the Pioneers.

        Baker's points were all on 3-pointers and helped the Pioneers to a 29-7 burst in the period. Jordan Stowers added 11 points for the winners.

        Scott Ruth added nine points in the fourth quarter and Justin Seiter had 18 on the game for the Mustangs.
