BY DAVE SCHUTTE
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Seven of Cincinnati's top boys basketball teams will be in action tonight at Cincinnati State College for the annual Public High School League preview.

Western Hills, Walnut Hills, Withrow, Woodward, Mount Healthy, Aiken and Taft each will play two quarters.

“Western Hills, Walnut Hills and Withrow will be real good,” Woodward coach Jim Leon said.

Action begins at 6:30 p.m. with Woodward facing Taft and concludes with Western Hills, the projected No. 1 team, playing Woodward. Admission is $4 at the game.

REGIONAL RUNNING: Division I state champions Steve Padgett (La Salle) and Chelsea Homan (Anderson), head a contingent of Cincinnati runners entered in the annual Foot Locker Midwest Regional Saturday in Kenosha, Wis.

The top eight finishers advance to the national championship Dec. 11 in Orlando, Fla.

Some of the others include Autumn Kozimer (Anderson), Jerry Claunch (Lakota East), Allen Bader, (La Salle), Alison Zeinner (Colerain), Lindsay Zinn (Lakota East), Alison Bedingfield (Colerain) and Catie Grebe (Colerain).

Connie Jo Robinson (Reading) is Cincinnati's only past national champion, in 1981. Milford's John Sence was second in 1987.
