Miami hockey team sweeps No. 3 MSU
OXFORD The Miami RedHawks, behind junior right wing Pat Leahy's power play and shorthanded goals and freshman Nick Jardine's power play tally, stunned No. 3-ranked Michigan State for the second straight game, 3-0 Saturday night at Goggin Arena.
Freshman David Burleigh again was in net for Miami (7-4-2, 4-3-2 CCHA). The Spartans fell to 10-3-0, 10-2-0).
Center Dustin Whitecotton assisted on both of Leahy's goals. Jardine also had an assist.
The Whitecotton-Leahy-Jar dine line was formed two weeks ago after season-ending knee injuries to top forwards Jason Deskins and Gregor Krajnc.
