HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. Craig Sanders and Brian Lawhon both scored 15 points Friday night as Northern Kentucky University beat Thomas More College 120-66 in the first round of the John L. Griffin/Lions Club Classic in Regents Hall on Friday night.
NKU (1-0) placed seven players in double figures and shot 54.8 percent from the field. Freshman guard Brenden Stowers added 14 points off the bench for the Norse.
NKU made 12 of 32 3-point attempts. The Norse will play Wisconsin-Stevens Point in tonight's 7:45 championship game.
