Ten named All-District

        Six players and four coaches from Greater Cincinnati were awarded top honors in the Associated Press Southwest All-District football teams announced Monday.

        St. Xavier's Brian Heizman was one of three named defensive player of the year. The others were Purcell Marian's Jaime Cooper (Division III) and Chad Kelley from Batavia (IV).

        Offensive player of the year honors went to Donnie Johnson, North College Hill (IV), Jason Bainum, Williamsburg (V), and Jon Smith, CCD (VI).

        Andy Olds (Kings) and Steve Channell (Edgewood) shared the Division II coach of the year honors with New Richmond's Ron Bird (Division III) and Bruce Dixon from Finneytown (Division V) also honored.

        The team was picked by a panel of sports writers and broadcasters from the district.
