        No. 5-ranked Michigan defeated Miami 4-2 Friday night before 5,351 fans at Firstar Center.

        Senior Dustin Whitecotton and freshman Matt Chandler scored for Miami (5-3-2, 2-2-2 CCHA).

        Jed Ortmeyer and Andy Hilbert scored power play goals and Andy Hilbert and John Shouneyla even-strength tallies for UM (9-1-0, 6-1-0 CCHA).

        The teams meet again at 7 p.m. today in Goggin Arena on Miami's campus.
