        At Highlands — Highlands took the first step in defending its Kentucky class AAA state championship with a first round victory.

        Junior quarterback Gino Guidugli completed 16-of-25 passes for 210 yards and five touchdowns. He completed passes to eight different receivers, led by Brent Grover's 94 yards.

        Guidugli threw four TD passes before Anderson County even scored as the Blue Birds jumped out to a 42-0 lead.

        Backup QB Jake Donelan continued the domination in the second half, throwing two touchdown passes of his own.
