Vandalia Butler (6-4) vs. Kings (9-1)


Today's playoff matchup

        • When: 7:30 p.m. today

        • Where: Kings High School, 5500 Columbia Road, Kings Mills

        • Tickets: $5

        • Regular Season: Teams didn't play and had no common opponents.

        • Playoff History: This is Kings and Butler's first appearance.

        • Credentials: An opening game loss to Wyoming set the stage for Kings to run off nine consecutive victories en route to the FAVC Cardinal Division title. Vandalia Butler ended the season with two losses in the last three games and has been a poor defensive team.

        • Key Players: Kings is a running team with Jimmy Robertson (916 yards rushing), Ron Swearingin (682) and Mike Hurley (630). Vandalia Butler: Senior quarterback Josh Betts has thrown for 1,800 yards with tailback Zac Molmar rushing for 1,560 yards.

        • Key Statistics: Kings averaged 36.2 points a game and allowed 14 with Butler scoring an average of 33 points while allowing 24.

        • If Kings wins: The Knights may have to beat Lebanon a second time to make it to the regional championship game.
