Ludlow (5-5) at Nicholas Co. (9-1)

Today's N.Ky. playoff matchup

        • WHEN: 7:30 p.m. today

        • WHERE: Nicholas County High School, 395 W. Main St., Carlisle

        • WHAT TO WATCH: This may be the most even Class A matchup in the state. The Litkenhous ratings list Nicholas County 15th and Ludlow 16th, and Nicholas County beat the visiting Panthers 14-13 on Sept. 17 thanks only to two Ludlow penalties on the winning drive.

Nicholas County has a plus-21 turnover margin, but it faced a weaker schedule. Ludlow — whose coach, Tom Staley, has reportedly been weighing retirement — should be at a fever pitch emotionally to win this game for him.

        • PICK: Ludlow
