Edgewood knocks off top-seeded Summit

        Edgewood pulled off the biggest upset of the Division II sectional girls soccer tournament so far, eliminating No.1-seeded Summit Country Day Thursday at Summit.

        A goal by Corinne Moeggenberg midway through the second half broke a 1-1 tie and moved the Cougars into the semifinals against Ross on Monday at a neutral site.

        • Madeira 3, Norwood 2, Division II sectional at Madeira — Freshman striker Rachel Longsworth played like a veteran for Madeira, scoring two goals in the second half as Madeira rallied from a 2-0 deficit.

        • Finneytown 1, Purcell Marian 0, Division II sectional at Finneytown — Nikki Brookbank's goal 7:33 into the game was all the Wildcats needed.

        • Ross 3, Georgetown 0, Division II sectional at Ross — Kristin Elam, Tiffany Bogolo and Jenelle Brown scored all the Rams' goals in the first half.

        • Mariemont 3, Middle town Madison 0, Division II sectional Mariemont — The Warriors outshot the Mohawks 30-2, with Sarah Birkett, Holly Kapela and Lauren Potts scoring.

        • Indian Hill 10, Goshen 0, Division II sectional at I Indian Hill — Claire Kenny scored one goal and assisted on three for the Braves, who meet Clinton Massie on Monday at a neutral site.

        • Roger Bacon 9, New Richmond 0, Division II sectional at Roger Bacon — Twins Lindsey and Lisa Vondrell combined for four goals and Corinne Smith added two.

        • Badin 8, Little Miami 0, Division II sectional at Hamilton Garfield — Reba Sedlackek scored one goal and assisted on three.

        • Seven Hills 2, Batavia 1 (PK), Division II sectional at Seven Hills — The Stingers converted two of five penalty kicks in the upset over the No.9-seeded Bulldogs.

        • Cincinnati Country Day 4, Bethel-Tate 1, Divi sion II sectional at Indian Hill — The No.6-seeded Indians will play Seven Hills on Monday.

        • Wyoming 4, Fenwick 1, Division II sectional at Wyoming — Monica Hoyles and Robin Fulton each scored two goals for the Cowboys, who meet Badin on Monday. • Kings 5, Springfield North 1, Dayton Division II at Springfield North — Courtney Ressler scored two goals.

        BOYS SOCCER: Danny Albrinck's goal, 10 minutes into the second half, lifted LaSalle to a 1-0 victory over Moeller in a Greater Catholic Action South Division game.

        FIELD HOCKEY: Sophomore Lauren Manning scored on a rush play in overtime, giving Summit Country Day a 2-1 victory over Ursuline in the district tournament.
