Day's poll work can earn $112
The Cincinnati Enquirer
BATAVIA The Clermont County Board of Elections is reporting a critical need for poll workers for the Nov. 2 election.
The communities most in need are Union, Miami and Pierce townships, said Kathy Jones, board of elections deputy director.
The pay varies but is typically about $112 for the day. The amount has risen significantly in recent years. In 1987, it was $55.
Presiding judges who are required to transport election materials before and after the voting, and the ballot judges who accompany them, get more money.
An instructional class will be 7 p.m. Wednesdayon the third floor of the Clermont County Administration Building, 101 East Main Street, Batavia.
Anyone interested should call the board of elections at 732-7275 or 732-7272.
