Moeller needs playoff boost

BY DAVE SCHUTTE
The Cincinnati Enquirer

Moeller's chances for a Division I playoff berth depend on beating No. 1 Elder tonight at sold-out Elder Stadium before a crowd of more than 10,000. A loss could be devastating.

“If Moeller beats Elder, they're probably in the playoffs,” said Steve Shuck, an expert on the Harbin computer ratings used to determine playoff berths. “If they lose, they're still alive, but others control their destiny.”

Despite a 5-1 start, McNicholas is another team that needs a victory tonight, over Purcell Marian at Norwood Stadium, to lock up a Division II playoff spot.

Ross could resurface as a Division III playoff contender with victories over Kings tonight at home and Lebanon next week at Lebanon.

Other games tonight have playoff implications. In Division I, Lima visits Fairfield, and Colerain is at Lakota East. Anderson at Harrison is the big game in Division II.
