SHARONVILLE The annual Taste of Sharonville has been renamed SharonFest and organizers promise more fun and more to do this fall.
Favorites from the Taste of Sharonville will continue including "Puttin' on the Hits' lip sync contest, the food (court) and live bands, spokeswoman Kim Dameron said.
New this year is a complete family experience with the addition of a kids and teens' area at the new Depot Square in the heart of downtown Sharonville at Reading and Creek roads, she said.
SharonFest will be 5 p.m. to midnight Friday, Oct. 8; and 3 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Oct. 9.
Besides the Puttin' on the Hits lip sync contest, 6-8 p.m. Saturday, other weekend music includes the Carl Edmundson Band 8 p.m. to midnight Friday; and Robin Lacey and DeZydeco., 8 p.m. to midnight Saturday.
The food court in the parking lot at Creek Road and Main Street includes fare from the Bombay Bicycle Club, Preston Hotel, Anand Indian Restaurant, Silver Chef, Purple Onion Pizzeria, LaRosa's, Johnson Enterprises, Daryl Flege Meats, Milano's Pizza, Doc & Ed's Smoked Meats and Mister Yogurt.
Preschoolers can look forward to a huge air pumpkin ... a ride on the minitrain (at Depot Square), hunt for and paint the perfect pumpkin, make ... special holiday crafts, fish for prizes in the duck pond and visit with ... friends from The Wizard of Oz, Ms. Dameron said. Madcap Puppet shows will be held Friday and Saturday nights
Teens can enjoy a game area and meet Buster of the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, who will award some free hockey tickets to contest winners. There will be Bungee races, a giant slide, ""electric slide'' dances and other activities. KISS 107.1 FM DJ Dave Mason will play hits and take requests Friday and Saturday evenings.
