        • Satellite alert: Satellite owners who receive the Independent Film Channel will get a chance today to see Waiting for Marty, an eight-minute tongue-in-cheek documentary about the visit of director Martin Scorsese to the Wexner Center in Columbus in 1997. Produced, directed and shot by Dayton filmmaker Steven Bognar (Personal Belongings), the short will run on the Split Screen program hosted by indie legend John Pierson.         • Celebrity chats: Talk with Tony Bennett about his legendary career on American On Line Live, 7 p.m. today, then listen as actress Dixie Carter talks about her role in the new TV series Family Law at 9 p.m. today.

        • Collect this: Move over Pokemon and Beanie Babies. The Disney Store introduces its “Countdown to the Millennium” collector pin series Thursday. New pins, representing seven decades of Disney history, will be released weekly through Dec. 31. The 101-pin series begins with a Walt Disney/Mickey Mouse pin. $4 each.

        • A day away: Bring your musical instrument to the open stage jam with the Sonny Moorman Group, 7-11 p.m. Tuesday, Burbank's Real BBQ, Sharonville. 771-1440.

        • 48 hours out: The Fitton Center's KeyBank “Celebrating Self” Series offers “Making the Most of Your Next Visit to a Museum,” noon Wednesday at the center in Hamilton. With Rob Kret, director of the Miami University Art Museum. $10 includes lunch. 863-8873.

        • 72 hours out: First Annual Light the Night Leukemia Walk, a fund-raiser and evening meander through scenic Eden Park, is 7:15 p.m. Thursday with a preview party at 5 p.m.. The event features music, refreshments and a “flickering parade of balloons;” participants who raise/donate at least $25 carry an illuminated red balloon. Preregistration preferred: 772-5503.
