OHIO HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS
Colerain runs away with title
The Cincinnati Enquirer
Running without the injured Kelly Crum, the Colerain girls cross country team didn't miss a beat in winning the Trotwood Madison Invitational Saturday in Dayton.
Crum was injured in the collapse of a West Covington deck just after the start of Sunday's Riverfest fireworks.
She's still a little sore and we decided to hold her out, Colerain coach Ron Russo said.
Alison Zeinner was the individual champion, running the 3.1-mile course in 18:36. Six Colerain runners finishing in the top 10.
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: La Salle senior Steve Padgett set a meet and course record of 15:44.3 in winning the Trotwood Madison Invitational.
GIRLS SOCCER: Waynesville's Jessica Hupe scored her 99th and 100th career goals in a 3-0 victory over Blanchester.
A four-year starter, Hupe is now four goals away from tying Torah Coffman (1995) for the school record.
Angie Scarlato's goal, a head-ball shot off a corner kick with two minutes remaining, lifted Mercy to a 3-2 victory over previously undefeated Columbus Bishop Watterson.
Gina Soldono scored three goals to lift Harrison to its first victory, a 3-0 shutout over Glen Este.
VOLLEYBALL: Williamsburg captured the Wiliamsburg Invita tional, defeating White Oak 15-3, 15-2 in the finale.
BOYS SOCCER: Five Turpin players scored in a 5-1 victory over Northwest, including team leader Mark Burch, who now has seven goals.
