Mason 24, Turpin 7

At Turpin — Quarterback Adam Livingston completed 15 of 26 passes for 173 yards and two TDs, giving the Comets their first victory of the season.

But the key in the game was the Mason defense that held Turpin's running game to 93 yards rushing.

Winless in two previous outings, Mason took control in the second quarter, scoring twice on Livington passes, the first to Stephen Bender and the second to Matt Swanson.

Jeff Lyon added a 39-yard field goal in the third quarter, and Roger Rist rounded out the Comet scoring on a 5-yard run in the fourth quarter.
