        • Dating game: Here's a one-stop singles resource. The Everything Dating Book: How to meet new people, where to go and what to say — to make the most of every date (Adams Media; $12.95) by Leah and Elina Furman. The authors, two single women from Chicago, explore dating safety; offer dozens of casual, yet witty conversations; share five easy-to-prepare romantic menus; and soothe break-ups.

        • Food-flavored lips: Most people are accustomed to lip balms that taste fruity or minty. Now Softlips is joining the java craze by introducing Iced Cappuccino balm. Its maker, Mentholatum, is sponsoring “Most Kissable Lips” contest, with first prize a New York City getaway at New York's Plaza Hotel.
