LEBANON A Warren County grand jury has upgraded charges against a Har lan Township man accused of the slaying of his estranged girlfriend last month.
Andrew Beckman, 21, was indicted Monday on a charge of aggravated murder in the July 25 death of Brandi Southworth, 19, mother of his infant son.
Warren County Prosecutor Tim Oliver said Mr. Beckman, who was initially charged with murder, is not eligible for the death penalty because authorities have no proof that he killed Ms. Southworth during the commission of another felony. He faces life with possibility of parole after 20 years.
