Scotts Co. drops 7% after "hold"

        Scotts Co. fell $3.121/2, or 7.1 percent, to $41.061/4 and traded as low as $39 as North America's biggest maker of consumer grass seeds and plant foods was downgraded to “hold” from “aggressive buy” by analyst Justin C. Maurer at McDonald Investments Inc.

        Scotts, based in Marysville, Ohio, northwest of Columbus, supplies consumer products for lawn and garden care, as well as turf care and horticulture. Brand name products include Miracle-Gro, Ortho, Roundup, Weedol, Pathclear, Evergreen, Levington, KB, Fertiligene, NexaLotte and Celaflor.
