STAYING IN
Critic's picks: PBS' looks back at the way we were with another 13 hours of the People's Century this month, starting today with films about 1948 and the baby boom, and the trouble those kids caused in 1968 (9-11 p.m., Channels 48, 54, 16). TV Critic John Kiesewetter also recommends Jackie's Back, a “mockumentary” by comedian Robert Townsend with Whoopi Goldberg, David Hyde Pierce, Rosie O'Donnell, Bette Midler and others recalling the fictional one- hit wonder singer (Jenifer Lewis) trying to make a comeback (9 p.m., Lifetime.)

ENQUIRING MINDS
Think about it: Now that Boy George is 38 (today), isn't it about time he got a grown-up name?

They're off! Two hundred bicyclists leave Seattle today for the American Lung Association's Big Ride Across America, a 48-day, 3,250-mile journey to raise money for lung research and education. To participate, each rider has raised at least $7,000 for local and national charities. The wheeled gang hopes to arrive July 31 in Washington.

Burglary prevention: In the United States, burglars enter a house, apartment or condo every 15 seconds. Almost a third of those burglaries are made without force, meaning we're making the burglars' job too easy for them. For a booklet of burglary prevention tips, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope, plus $1 for handling, to Burglary Prevention Council, 221 N. LaSalle St., Suite 3500, Chicago, IL 60601-1520.

THE GOODS
(What's in stores today)

June bride: The Champagne Lace Wedding Erica Kane Doll debuts in Time for June weddings. Most women get married once or twice, but Erica, portrayed by Emmy Award-winning (finally!) soap opera superstar Susan Lucci, has walked down the aisle nine times. The doll, by Mattel, celebrates Erica's 1993 wedding to Dimitri Marick at Pine Valley's Wildwind Estate on ABC's All My Children.
