N.KY. HIGH SCHOOL REPORT

Newport girls, NCC boys win

The Newport girls and Newport Central Catholic boys captured the River City Classic Saturday at Newport Stadium but it was two Dayton performers who stole the show.

Charlie Young won the 200- and 400-meter dashes, triple jump and anchored the 3200 relay.

Young was named the MVP of the boys meet.

T.T. Rowekamp, named MVP of the girls meet, won the 800- and 1600-meter runs and anchored the third-place 3200 meter relay team.
