Miami's Road to the Title Game
First round
Washington, 17-11: The No.7-seeded Huskies must wonder about this Cincinnati thing. Washington beat Xavier 69-68 in the first round last season when they were an 11 seed. Finished fourth in solid Pac 10.
Second round
Utah, 27-4: The No.2-seed carries a 22-game winning streak into the tournament. WAC regular-season and tournament champion. Gotta wish for this matchup just so delightful Rick Majerus and Charlie Coles can trade one-liners.
Sweet 16
Kentucky, 24-8: The No.3-seeded Wildcats play annual games at Firstar, and UK officials this week said games with Cincinnati-area teams was possible. But why wait?
Elite Eight
Michigan State, 28-4: Big Ten, big deal. If Miami makes it this far they won't care if Magic Johnson and Greg Kelser suit up for the Spartans.
Final Four
Duke, 32-1: You see, Miami beat Tennessee, which beat Kentucky, which beat Maryland, which got ... whoops, destroyed by Duke. Well, you couldn't blame the Blue Devils for looking ahead to the title game.
Championship game
No.1 Auburn (27-3) or No.1 Connecticut (28-2): Shoot. After beating Duke, this would be a formality.
