Brian Lakes scored five points in the final minute of play to seal the victory for Roger Bacon, which lost twice to Purcell Marian in the regular season.

“I felt the key for us would be to spread the floor and keep pressure on their big scorers,” Roger Bacon coach Bill Brewer said.

La Salle led 22-20 at halftime after holding the Highlanders' front-court stars, Sellet and Mike Pettyjohn, to just four points each.

Brad Hoffman, LaSalle's top inside player, picked up his fourth foul with 4:18 in the fourth quarter though, opening the door for Sellet's dominace.
