CINCINNATI BOYS BASKETBALL ROUNDUP
Seven Hills, CCD win sectionals
BY CAREY HOFFMAN

Frustration has become motivation for Cincinnati Country Day.
We didn't want to be a group of seniors to leave here without winning a sectional title, said senior center Trey Wright, and after Friday night, he and his classmates don't have to worry about it anymore. CCD knocked off Fayetteville 83-69 to win a Cincinnati Division IV sectional title at Loveland.
CCD was mired in the longest sectional title drought of coach Howard Brownstein's tenure, having not won since 1995. This will be Brownstein's eighth trip to districts in 14 years.
Now the Indians (18-5) will be returning to the district tournament, where they will face the winner of tonight's Russia-Houston game on 7:30p.m. March 12 at University of Dayton Arena.
This team is playing together, taking good shots and is unselfish offensively, Brownstein said.
No CCD player averages more than 11 points a game, but the team's two seniors, Wright and forward Jamin Johnson, came up huge Friday. Wright had 23 points and 17 rebounds, and Johnson had 20 points and 13 rebounds.
CCD built a 10-point second-quarter lead, then watched as Fayetteville (6-17) became the aggressors and cut its deficit to 32-28 by halftime. Early in the third quarter, consecutive three-pointers by Fayetteville's Adam Brady tied the score at 34.
