No NCAA play for Norse men

EVANSVILLE, Ind. The Northern Kentucky University men's basketball team saw its last shot at an NCAA Division II Tournament berth fail Friday night, as Kentucky Wesleyan beat the Norse 111-70 in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.
NKU finishes 16-12 and will miss the NCAA Tournament for the first time in five seasons. It went 10-4 in the NCAAs the past four years, including back-to-back title-game appearances in 1996 and '97.
Kentucky Wesleyan (29-2), led by Dana Williams' 25 points, shot 63.2 percent from the field Friday night. The Panthers, ranked No.1 in the NCAA Division II poll, became the first team in history to beat NKU three times in one season.
NKU was led by Craig Sanders and Craig Conley, who scored 14 points apiece.
