“Overall, we're pretty well-balanced,” said Moeller coach Jeff Gaier, whose team will send 10 wrestlers to next week's district tournament at Fairfield. “Most of the 10 guys who qualified placed pretty high, and that will help next week.

“We had a pretty tough schedule during the regular season, just to prepare ourselves for nights like this, and I think they responded well.”

The Crusaders are No.1 in The Enquirer's Division I coaches poll and No.10 in the state coaches Division I poll.

Moeller had seven wrestlers in the championship finals and three more in the consolation finals to determine the third- and fourth-place finishers. The top four wrestlers in each weight class qualify for the district tournament.

Fairfield, the preseason No.1 team in The Enquirer poll and the No.2 team in the final poll, finished second. The Indians sent seven wrestlers to the championship finals and five won. All seven will go to the district.
