Flynt trial could be delayed again
Lawyers to seek 30 days beyond April 5 start

Larry Flynt's health is improving, but probably not enough for him to make it to Cincinnati on schedule for his trial.
One of Mr. Flynt's lawyers said Tuesday that the Hustler magazine publisher is making a good recovery from a recent case of pneumonia that left him hospitalized for several days.
The attorney, Alan Isaacman, said the next step is for Mr. Flynt to undergo surgery to correct a urologi cal problem.
The surgery, originally scheduled for last month, prompted the judge in Mr. Flynt's Cincinnati obscenity case to delay the trial for several months.
But the surgery was postponed a few days later when Mr. Flynt was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia.
Mr. Isaacman said doctors now are waiting for Mr. Flynt's lungs to recover so he can undergo the surgery.
Although Mr. Flynt expects to have the surgery within a few weeks, Mr. Isaacman said the recovery time for the surgery could run another two months.
What it means, he said, is that Mr. Flynt's lawyers may seek another delay of about 30 days when they return to Hamilton County Common Pleas Court on Thursday to discuss the April 5 trial date.
Mr. Issacman said he expects Mr. Flynt to be ready for trial by early to mid-May at the latest.
Mr. Flynt and his brother, Jimmy, are accused of selling obscene videotapes from their Hustler store on Sixth Street. If convicted, each faces more than 20 years in prison.
Judge Patrick Dinkelacker will meet with attorneys on both sides Thursday to discuss Mr. Flynt's health and the trial date.
