1928
Score: XU 29, UC 25
Site: Schmidt Fieldhouse
Skinny: In the first crosstown game, the Muskies dedicated their new home arena. Eddie Burns had 11 points to lead XU.
1955
Score: XU 67, UC 64
Site: Cincinnati Gardens
Skinny: XU star Dave Piontek scored 29 points as the Muskies upset the Jack Twyman-led Bearcats. UC got revenge a month later at that time, the teams played twice a year with a 70-69 win at Armory Fieldhouse.
1964
Score: UC 94, XU 92
Site: Cincinnati Gardens
Skinny: XU guard Steve Thomas set a series record by scoring 45 points. Ron Bonham scored 32 for UC, which clinched it when XU committed a traveling violation in the final seconds.
1967
Score: UC 79, XU 69 (OT)
Site: Cincinnati Gardens
Skinny: One of the ugliest games in series history. There were 57 fouls, plus an overtime brawl involving XU's Joe Pangrazio and UC's Raleigh Wynn. Both players were ejected, and two spectators were injured as fans pelted the court with cups, coins, and other debris.

Skinny: Reserve guard John Zeides made a jumper from the foul line with six seconds left, ending UC's 12-game series winning streak. XU coach George Krajack literally lost his shirt after being dunked in the postgame shower by Muskie players.
1971

Skinny: XU's Bob Fullarton hit two game-winning free throws and admitted later that he was scared to death. XU didn't beat UC again for nine years.
1987

Skinny: XU had won three straight Crosstown Shootouts, But UC senior forward Joe Stiffend sank a 17-foot jumper at the final buzzer to give Tony Yates his first Shootout victory as a UC coach in four attempts.
1990

Site: Cincinnati Gardens
Skinny: XU guard Jamal Walker won it with a three-pointer from the right corner, after a controversial call by referee Ken Faulkner of UC's Metro Conference. With 17 seconds left, XU's Michael Davenport knocked the ball away from UC's Lou Banks and the ball went out of bounds. TV replays appeared to show that Davenport last touched the ball, but Faulkner ruled the ball had gone off Banks. I thought we deserved to win, and that's all I'm gonna say, said UC coach Bob Huggins afterward.
1992
Score: UC 93, XU 75
Site: Cincinnati Gardens
Skinny: UC forward Terry Nelson caused a stir by predicting, Xavier doesn't have a chance. We should blow them out. And UC romped to leads of 22-4 and 35-13. XU narrowed UC's lead to 56-53, but UC, which would go to the Final Four that year, again pulled away.
1994

Skinny: The Handshake Game. XU's Brian Grant caught a missed shot by Tyrice Walker and scored to send the game to overtime. But the real drama came afterward when UC coach Bob Huggins refused to shake hands with XU coach Pete Gillen. Gillen, enraged by the snub, screamed at Huggins as both coaches walked off the floor. TV cameras captured the confrontation, and it made national news. Both Huggins and Gillen eventually apologized.
January 1996

Skinny: Danny Fortson finished with a career-high 40 points and 17 rebounds, and the highest-scoring Shootout in history was UC's sixth win in the last seven meetings.
November 1996
Score: XU 71, UC 69
Site: Shoemaker Center
Skinny: The Shot. XU's Lenny Brown hit a pull-up jumper as time expired and the Musketeers stunned UC, ranked No.1 in the nation at the time. UC point guard Charles Williams dribbled the ball off his foot with 6.7 seconds left to set up Brown's heroics. I ain't going to lie, Brown said after the game. I didn't know if it was going in. I was hoping I'd get fouled ... it went in.
