CYCLONES 7, CHICAGO 4
Six-pack in second period
The Cincinnati Enquirer
CHICAGO The Cincinnati Cyclones used a six-goal second period to defeat the defending Turner Cup champion Chicago Wolves 7-4 at the Rosemont Horizon Friday night.
The victory, with Detroit's 5-4 loss to Grand Rapids, moves Cincinnati one point ahead of the Vipers for the IHL Northeast Division and Eastern Conference lead.
Seven different Cyclones scored. All-Star left wings Gilbert Dionne and Scott Morrow and center Todd Simon had three-point games. Dionne extended his IHL league-leading consecutive game point streak to 16 games. Simon and Todd Hawkins each improved their streaks to seven.
Games like these are a joy to coach, Cyclones assistant coach Chris Cichocki said. The offense was clicking on all cylinders, and we got great play from all 18 guys.
