Lawhon's 11 3s lead NKU

The Cincinnati Enquirer

Sophomore guard Brian Lawhon made a school-record 11 three-pointers Tuesday night and scored 33 points as Northern Kentucky University defeated Kentucky State University 96-93 in overtime.

Lawhon, a graduate of Sycamore High School, broke the previous record of 10 held by Paul Cluxton.

NKU rallied from a nine-point deficit late in regulation and tied the score at 80-80 on a three-pointer by Craig Sanders with four seconds remaining.

Sanders added 22 points for NKU, and Craig Conley scored 20. For the game, NKU made 15 of 39 three-point attempts.

The Norse improved to 5-4, and Kentucky State dropped to 7-4.
