A 14-year-old girl who told police she was assaulted, bound, gagged and left alongside railroad tracks in Pleasant Ridge last week has identified her attacker as a 40-year-old Pleasant Ridge man. Cincinnati police charged Jimmy White on Wednesday with felonious assault, kidnapping and gross sexual imposition. He told police he was in the area at the time of the assault, said Lt. Stephen Luebbe, commander of the personal crimes unit.
Police initially did not charge Mr. White after interviewing him Sunday, but he was charged after a second interview.
He is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center awaiting an arraignment scheduled for today.
He is accused of tying the girl up with an extension cord and sexually assaulting her Aug. 12 as she made her way home along a shortcut from the Bigg's shopping plaza to her house.
Her shirt and shorts were cut, and she had abrasions on her face and arm.
Workers at a nearby business spotted her and called police. She still had groceries with her from her trip to the store.
A grand jury will decide within the next two weeks whether to indict Mr. White.
