The largest cable provider in Greater Cincinnati, Time Warner Cable, has the network in place to provide digital service but has not announced plans to, said Jennifer Mooney, vice president for public affairs.
"Technology's changing so rapidly that we're not ready to say one way or another what the definite plan is," she said.
Time Warner offers 99 channels and services including music and pay per view. Internet access could be offered in the next 18 months, she said. Warner serves 225,000 customers in 54 communities.
Enhancements would be needed for digital service, Mrs. Mooney said, but "the primary investment is currently in place."
Time Warner can offer more channels, she said, and most likely will next year.
