Escaped prisoner captured

One of two prisoners who escaped from the Ripley County (Ind.) Jail on June 27 was captured early Thursday near Laurel, Ind.

Jody D. Selby was apprehended about 2 a.m. by Franklin County Sheriff's Department deputies. Judge Carl Taul of Ripley Circuit Court set Mr. Selby's bond at $100,000.

Mr. Selby and another prisoner, Bryan K. Wheeler, escaped by scaling a razor wire-topped fence in a jail recreation area. The search continues for Mr. Wheeler.
