West Hi jumps in with No. 1 Winton Woods
        Few coaches ask their players which team they'd prefer to play in the sectional tournament. Lannis Timmons, coach of No.3 Western Hills, is the exception.

Elder knocks off Ohio's No. 1 team - again
        The famed Elder Pit has seen many upsets, but none quite like what happened Saturday night when the Panthers upset the state's No. 1-ranked team, Cleveland St. Ignatius.

Cincinnati boys basketball games
        Hamilton's Nate Rusbosin made two free throws with 37 seconds to play to give the Big Blue, ranked No.8 in the Enquirer's Division I poll, a 51-50 lead in an eventual upset of No.2 St.Xavier.

N.Ky. boys basketball games
        Chris Thompson and Justin Morris combined to make three free throws in the final 20 seconds to give Scott a 71-68 victory over Simon Kenton.
Friday's Games
Moeller beats St. Xavier in thriller
        The big guns made their expected noise, as did the Moeller home crowd. But it was the supporting actors who shone in Moeller's thrilling 64-62 win over St.Xavier Friday night.
Conner commanding respect
        Conner senior guard Jeremy Stephenson almost wants people to forget about his basketball team. It will be hard for him to get his wish the rest of the season. His 23 points Friday helped the Cougars to a 79-73 win at Highlands.
Cincinnati Hills League
        Geoff Gray hit two key free throws in the third overtime, helping Mariemont to a 77-69 triple-overtime victory over Taylor.
Fort Ancient Valley Conference
        Robert Hite poured in 34 points to lead Winton Woods, the No.1 team in The Enquirer's Division I poll, over Glen Este 81-48.
Greater Catholic League
        Josh Hausfeld scored 17 points and Frank Phillips made six fourth-quarter free throws as Roger Bacon, No.3 in the Enquirer's Divisions II-IV poll, turned back No.4 Purcell Marian 67-48.
Greater Miami Conference
        Mike Matthews scored all four points in the second overtime, and Sycamore held Lakota West scoreless in the final period to give the Aviators a 65-61 victory.
Miami Valley Conference
        Matt Cohen scored eight points in the first quarter and T.J. Seward scored nine in the second quarter and CCD rolled over Landmark 72-39.
Mid-Miami League
        Springboro improved to 10-0 in the Mid-Miami League and clinched at least a tie for the title with a 79-53 victory over West Carrollton.
N.Ky. boys basketball games
        Chad McCarter scored 22 points to lead Silver Grove to a 93-59 victory over Heritage Academy, giving the Big Train its first 20-win season since 1977.
Queen City Conference
        Danny Horace scored 28 points, 14 in the second quarter, as Western Hills crushed Aiken 89-46 and remained undefeated in the Queen City Conference.
Southern Buckeye Conference
        Clermont Northeastern clinched its first Southern Buckeye Conference championship since 1994 with a 64-50 win over Batavia.
Other games
        Jordan Dever scored six of his game-high 20 points in a game-opening 9-2 run to spark East Central over Lawrenceburg 65-44.

Oak Hills finding success in GMC
        When Oak Hills was accepted into the Greater Miami Conference this school year, some doubted they would be competitive in girls and boys basketball. The doubters couldn't have been more wrong.
Wednesday's Games
Cincinnati boys basketball games
        Kettering Alter clinched at least a tie for the Greater Catholic League North Division championship with a 62-53 victory over Badin.

N.Ky. boys basketball games
        Ross Hart made nine free throws in the fourth quarter and John Downs added seven as Beechwood rallied for a 70-58 win over Newport.
Tuesday's Games
Loveland takes charge in FAVC Cardinal
        Loveland coach Mike Ferone, concerned his team was stuck on a plateau, challenged his players to do something about it. Their answer was a 65-48 victory over Lebanon in the biggest Fort Ancient Valley Conference Cardinal Division game of the season.

Cincinnati boys basketball games
        Robert Perkins and Mark Lofton each scored 18 points to lead Mount Healthy to a 69-66 victory over Aiken in Queen City Conference action.

N.Ky. boys basketball games
        Russ Bramlage sank a 3-pointer with 11 seconds remaining, giving Dixie Heights a 57-54 upset of Covington Catholic, the No. 1 team in The Enquirer's Northern Kentucky poll.

        Williamstown's Ryan Hays sank two free throws with 10 seconds remaining to give the Demons a 74-72 win over Gallatin County 72.
