University of Cincinnati football coach Rick Minter is no longer listed as a candidate for the Arkansas football job, according to Arkansas news reports.
Minter originally was named a top candidate by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. But Cincinnati Athletic Director Bob Goin said he has not been contacted by Arkansas about Minter.
Boise State coach Houston Nutt, a former Arkansas player, has emerged as the top candidate. Arkansas defensive coordinator Miles Aldridge and offensive coordinator Kay Stephenson, holdovers from the staff of fired coach Danny Ford, have also interviewed for the job. Southern Mississippi coach Jeff Bower also will be interviewed.
